Did you try reset cas-dme synchronization? Sometimes the start value is out of sync after dead battery.

RE: BMW E88 no start/no dtc
In that case I would check if fuel pump is running, if not it still could be EWS issue. If fuel pump is running check power and ground of ignition coils, and other sensors to make sure they all have power and ground. When that's all normal I would check signal for ignition coils and injectors with a scope.
What is engine code we are talking about? |

Dont unplug crankshaft sensor, check for engine speed with your diagnostic tester while cranking. Sometimes faulty crankshaft sensor dont write nothing, just dont send rpm to ecu
Sorry iam blind, didnt read carefully ![]() |

RE: BMW E88 no start/no dtc
So why exactly was DME not getting ground? Broken contact or connector? If you have no ignition and you have reset EWS start value (if applicable) and there is no DTC then get a new DME
And I hope you are using a BMW scanner like ISTA. I have seen cases where diagnostic readers miss some dtcs. |

RE: BMW E88 no start/no dtc
Had one E60 without EWS codes in CAS or DME last week. Did EWS sync and car started. Worth a try.
