I have the same issue on Istep 07/18.
Did the downgrade solve this for you?

The problem happens only with some recent CIDs APIX1
For the moment I haven't tried to downgrade yet. Don't hesitate to share your experience if you do will it from your side.

It looks like that changing DISPLAY_PIP_CONFIG - DIMMUNGSVARIANTE from "neue_dimmung" to "alte_dimmung" solve the Problem for me. I didn´t get any black screen since changing the Value.

Still on Istep 07/18.

Quick Off Topic, how did you get full screen CarPlay in 07/18?
I thought that this is only possible from 11/18 and above.

4.15.31. Gonna flash it again with 4.12.12.

In a long time test i still had these random Black Screens - but much less than before.
Now i have changed my NBT CID with a EVO one. 

Everything works perfectly and the Picture Quality is much better.
