I have a car which came without any engine ecu or cas as these were missing

I have brought a replacement used ecu set with cas, key and engine ecu

I need to know which zb I need to flash this engine ecu with for this car

the engine ecu hardware number is the right one for the car

how can one find out which engine ecu software to load to the used engine ecu with as there are many variants

I have winkfp & ista p

but winkfp gives 23 different versions

the car in question is a

E60 Jan 2007 pre lci

530d m57/t2

170kw/231bhp

type code NR72

ISTA-P , but first you need to change vin of CAS and DME with tool32 , otherwise ISTA-P will ask to replace those 2 ECU's

you can flash it with winkfp , choose any ZB for DDE626 but important is the correct VIN ( 17 digits ) . also make sure you write FA to CAS too before running ISTA-P .

or , if CAS and DDE from same donor car , simply read FA with NCS from LMA and write to CAS then run ISTA-P .... 

ISTA-P will complaint about all other ECU's because of a VIN mismatch but will also show the correct ZB for CAS and DDE . copy those numbers and use WINKFP to flashing and VIN writing both CAS and DDE .

ISTA-P doesn't decode the car specs from the VIN but from the FA stored in CAS and LMA , 

why are you using AIF Schreiben , that's not the correct command to use for VIN writing.

that was the only command that allowed the uif to be changed nothing in there for the vin

when I copy the fa from lm to cas and when I try to recode the cas it gives a vin error

when I do fa write from lm to cas it goes ahead but after reconnecting with ncs it still picks up other car vin and fa
which is strange

so when I do connect with ista p its picking up other car vin and fa

i don't think you understood my reply from earlier when i copied the fa from lm to cas

with fa write on cas when connecting to ista p it was still picking up other car vin so wasn't good idea to carry on

but its sorted now with autohex new vin was written in cas and only after this it allowed ista p to pick up new vin

i know fa write wouldn't change the cas vin

very very very simple, searching in etk pre lci e60 530d m57n2: 7808222 is the only dde present, so dde626!

So this will be your program file 7808222 and for data file that's: (according to reference number in 7808222.0da and last zb dde626.his)

you can't use software not matching your hardware, so hope that you buyed correct numbers cas and dde...

why guys make you complicated things that are simple?
