I heard ALOT of good things about BMW B58B30 (supposable LAST GOOD BMW engine)
As far as me, well for me IN USA, I buy BMW with SULEV engine(15 year/150,000Miles warranty FREE/Included ANYTHING that triggers Check Engine) so far, for past 3 years i had about $6,000+++(3 radiators that cost $3000 in past 2000 miles or 3 years) worth of parts replaced by BMW at NO COST for me.

Yes the B58B30 is a good engine. But the B48,B47 is also good

If you are buying a used car, I suggest buying a Toyota, which is better. Old German cars can easily damage small parts. If you have a repair shop, you can buy German cars to play with
