Here is a quick workaround:
You have to edit some data in the ETKA folders.

1. Search the following files in the ETKA folders
Etka _User_au.ini
Etka _User_se.ini
Etka _User_sk.ini
Etka _User_vw.ini

2. and paste the following information at "POI"
Account = Etka
User = Etka- Client
password = Passw*rd

Note: Sometimes * don't work, so please insert o instead of *

Depending on the operating system, from time to time the plain names
are not recognized, therefore the following data should be used:

account = BE1E75CD9AB8B7C3
user = BE1E75CD9AB8B7C3
password = BE1E75CD9AB8B7C3

Yep, works a treat, updated my 8.1 to VW1313/Audi1313/Skoda845/Seat839 today 30.09.2019 no issues at all

I don't know why this is the ONLY forum I use where you can quote posts to reply to.

I wondered when ETKA 8.2 was due as 8.1 was last year around the same time.

It didn't show a message 8.2 is available with the download link like 8.1.

I only install updates monthly as its for personal use not a business. As I've said before, before you install updates check each folder has Data1 and Data2. I downloaded all missing updates. When I run ETKA and click on to VW etupvw13090.

I always back up ETKA to an USB drive because I've had this stupid problem before. When it installs it says can't create VW Data1_$upd$! I look and Data1 is missing. I copy it back from the USB drive.

Then another Data folder would go missing. Or Prog1_$upd$!

I use  the normal ETKA Online-Update link as its always working. I used ETKA On-Line Update Tool V1.06 and that downloads the exact same files.

I did see C:\ETKA\PROG\Pakete82\ETKA_82_Install.exe I ran it which downloads ETKA82_Installation.exe

When you run it, it says ETKA not installed. Just the same when I installed ETKA81_Installation.exe last year.

The thing is my hard drive packed up on my Windows 7 32bit laptop in January this year. I bought a new hard drive and installed everything again. I put the ETKA folder on and external drive and set all the tweaks and it worked.

I don't know it they are 64bit as everything on mine is C:\ETKA

As I posted in #146 a couple of days ago.

C:\ETKA\PROG\Pakete82\ETKA82_Installation.exe it said can't find ETKA installed.

I decided to install ETKA 8,0 03/2018 f33nix takes 2:50 hours and doesn't finish, C:\ETKA\DATA\AU\Bilder\711\71183639900.tif takes 15 minutes and doesn't finish, closed

E:\install\S.part04.rar read error in the file.

I've burnt another Aone Plus DVD+R DL 8X 8.5GB Dual Layer DVD PowerISO, I've done this before on read error, it shows an error writing data (with loads of letters and numbers)

It won't fit on DVD RW 4.5GB. You can't extract all files from VAG_ETKA_8.0_PLUS_03.2018.ISO to a folder and run it from there, it must be burnt to a DVD.

I used the DVD last year after it showed 8.1 upgraded. I can't remember if it showed any error but ETKA 8.1 installed.

I've searched the registry before and there is no mention of ETKA 8.0. I saved a few reg files last year connected with C:\ETKA but they were dll files.

Ok I've just tried to install ETKA 8.0 from the extracted files and it worked. I'm sure I've tried this before and it didn't work.

Which went back to the main picture which installed something else the pop said installing new software. I did click on it to see what it was installing, it said installed correctly.

I installed all missing updates with ETKA Online-Update. Avast picks up a virus wget http://update.lex-com.net

ETKA On-Line Update Tool V1.06 did the same.

I start the laptop up today and it goes to the boot menu safe mode, safe mode with Network, command prompt. start Windows normally. It didn't start normally I selected safe mode and deleted C:\ETKA folder as I renamed the original ETKA2.

I had to do a system restore back a couple of days. Its appears to be working at the moment.

Does anyone have a good link/upload for ETKA 8,0 03/2018 f33nix?

f33nix aka sunaj used to have a thread on here. I don't know if he had an argument with admin but his there has been locked.

I know f33nix from another good forum I use he has posted loads of great software, he is now missing from that forum because he had a misunderstanding with admin. All his threads have been removed. 

Any help will be much appreciated.

Ok I've download all missing updates which weren't missing. When I run ETKA is says 41 days left. The Update link isn't enabled so I can't install the updates.

When I run ETKA82_Installation.exe it says:

8.1 - 8.2
Audi 1272
seat 798
Skoda 804
VW 1272

VW 1300 is installed, Seat 834 is installed, Skoda 840 is installed, Audi 1300 is installed. So why won't its update!!!

After I installed ETKA 8.0 03.2018 I tried ETKA it came up with a German error I Goggled.

When addressing the hardlock, the error 7 occurred

I had to reinstall Hardlock hldrv32.exe. Then when I ran it another error installation error (06_de.bin) VW Data 1 folder missing again. So I copied is back from the USB drive, As I've said this happens many times when I install the monthly updates.
 
I've known for along time ETKA is crap. The only reason I use it is to save monthly updates to a PDF for my VAG Engine and Transmission codes app.

https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/ keep this in your favorites/bookmarks for part finding. It will save me looking in ETKA.

I tried again yesterday same crap updates would install.

I tried it again today it install Seat to 788 installed it says no updates available when all files are in the folder stupid system.

When I run ETKA is says:

check online services not available (296783451)

please check your account data (myETKAinfo ID, username,password)
