XZBMW  F10 ZGW update
Hello mates. What are correct settings for esys to update ZGW(metal case) on F10 (03.10)? MSM and VCM ticks in options off? Connect via gateway?

As I know enet+zgw01 is not the best idea... Icom should be used. If enet is used than u must to "play" whit ip`s that are changing during flashing and losts communication and fails if its not properly configured.

RE: F10 ZGW update
Funny enough I have updated my F10 with ICOM several times and never had an issue with gateway. I have Icom on DHCP and I have a router configured but never used the router when updating and never had a problem. I simply did not remember ZGW can have issues. Speak of luck?

RE: F10 ZGW update
From what I remember ICOM on DHCP is only required when flashing KOMBI or NBT.
For ZGW, FEM or BDC direct connection is just fine.

Coding 2.0 File Service - Region Change/Typekey - SFA iDrive 8.5 REGION CHANGE
BMW Full FSC Set + CarPlay - NBT EVO ID4/5/6/ENTRYNAV2 (CP REMOVE/PATCH)
MGU CARPLAY/ANDROID AUTO Activation / MGU PATCH/CP REMOVE (EU service)
ISN RESET Remote F/G series
BMW KAFAS 2/4 FSCs(7E/BE/BF - 11F/13E/13F)
BMW KAFAS4/MRR/RAM Virgin / VIN FSC Matching

RE: F10 ZGW update
Well I have the same problem with ENET and ZGW1. It goes into flashing mode then stops Tal processing because of lost connection. From what I know it’s due to the ZGW1 being to slow to get a new IP Adress? But I don’t know how to solve it.

When I'm working with a ZGW that is in good shape I have good success in flashing via ENET by following these steps (photos and links attached for clarity):

  1. Setup up a DHCP network on your computer device - set your computer's IPv4 address to 169.254.0.4 - Turn OFF all firewalls.
(instructions attached in file below- restart the computer after the server is installed)
  2. Open E-Sys Settings (options -> Settings -> Connections)  add a 0 to the "Additional Transmission Timeout"
(this gives extra time to the ZGW for a reboot before TAL attempts to write new instructions - restart Esys is mandatory after this step)
  3. Open the connection and connect to your "Gateway" not by VIN - see step 3 photo
3.b ensure to copy the correct IP address from VIN connection to Gateway With DHCP server RUNNING (note the addresses will always change to 169.254.X.X )
  4. Once you connect - execute TAL and Flash ZGW via ENET - will take longer bc of additional Timeout time. You can reset this to default when flashing any other module
