You should be kidding about those transceivers smile
How many clones have you seen using those ?
99,99 % of them are using transistors.
I know those SI transceivers are better but let's be REAL.

I'm speaking about my experiences and other peoples feedbacks about different cables (SI transceivers or transitors). Generally there is much more communication problems with transistors than transceivers.

You are right, most cables comes with transitors but there is at least 3 different hardware design in china which use SI transitors like the original design. You can not tell that one solution is better or same good only because is sold by more seller like the other (which is the same like the original).

There is the same situation with ATF/GAL. The most cables comes without ATF/GAL but is well know that is worst solution.

For personal use only with the same 2-3 cars maybe you will never encountred with this errors, but if you use the cable with lots of different cars every day sooner or later you will experience this problems.

Hi there !

I didn't said anything about GAL..I know the PRO and CON for them.

You will not have any errors using those transistors instead of using the dedicated chips (SI9241). Not communications errors.

You know why those transceivers are better ?
Because you are protected mate. When the k line is f+++ed you will not have to replace anything inside the unit (no burned transistors or whatever).
You are thermally protected by the chip also.
That's the single reason why it is better.
It has nothing to do with communication errors on those lines.
Let's be REAL !

Marcos and Leader told us why
In any case using SI9241 or as in clones L9637D it is better because you are protected. I did a test in car that in allways loosed the communication on Engine EcU ( k-line ) using a tool as your my friend Marcos ( as the one that you have it from me )
The one with L9637D hasn't that issues.
But I need to make a test with other tools with tranzistors because I really think that tranzistors ( or one of item it not a quality one )
But as you said my friend Marcos the tools with transcivers on k-line has more protection if you have k-line defective.
Even I saw genuine tool with this Si9241 burned.
The genuine tools has much more protection using TVS diode on k-line
I thought to make this upgrade in my tool too
Even I made a VagSaver/DLC Detector that I'm using it allways before a diagnostic test to prevent everything.

Mate just for your information the dump for your vcds version is uniq for your ftdi id only
If you know how to change ftdi id in the dump you can get the dump
But my advise for you is to try serach in the forum Mr. Fantomel collection and there you can get dumps for your tools

FTDI 232RL it has an ID
The Atmega dump contain this ID encrypted.
So only your dump is good for your tool
In case you need vcds 12.10. dump
But you can use Mr. Fantomel dumps that you get it from his collection
