No special things. DKOMBI does not show up in TAL-Processing under ECU's, so I can't update it. It appears it already has the latest software? From a quick search on internet it appears I have to manually edit svt to be able to reflash it? |

So I flashed it. Checked with transmitter and it now has the correct vin, but nothing else changed, it still can't remember anything if I turn car off completely.
ista shows only one error: D7F663 Instrument panel: Redundant data adopted from partner control unit Milage 0 Existent changes from no to yes depending if I have shut down the car before checking errors. |

That’s a bad virgin job when you have such behavior.

Thats what was my first thought, but according to the owner, this 6WB was already sent back to the seller and virginized again. So I don't know how likely it is that the seller made a bad job twice? Could it be that the chip is broken? To me it looks like it can't store mileage. It gets mileage from car and displays it, but if I turn everything off and on again, it displays 00000km for a few seconds and then corrects to actual mileage+5km. Also, it appears this car has had many ECU's changed out with used parts. Checking with readVIN, 2 ECU's have invalid VIN's and one has another cars VIN: HUD VIN: <invalid> (FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF) FRR VIN: <invalid> (0000000000000000000000000000000000) AMP_TOPHB has another car VIN. NBT has also been changed, but it has correct VIN and service information is also correct (I compared it to BMW service history). Could it be that these ECU's with invalid VIN's are causing problems? |

Wouldn't the person who virginized it notice that the eeprom is dead? Can you reset VIN on a dead eeprom? As I wrote, according to the owner, the unit has been virginized twice already because of the same problem. |

RE: Question about installing a used 6WB Digital Instrumental Cluster in F1x
I Had the same issue, sorry wrong choice of words. not dead but broken. I can virginise those chips from the 2 clusters too but when installed have the same errors. And mileage doesnt sync up. Sometimes it does and sometimes not. No red dot so i believe the vin is matched. Set @1000kms at first IGN it shows 95kms and error service indicator not available. Then cycle IGN it shoes correct mileage. Strange.
