What does OBD data say? There is a PID that tells you if the MIL should be on or off. (It's a requirement for the statutory vehicle inspection that it is correct in some countries so all cars have this PID)

Try also to delete transport mode with ista service functions, sometimes DME/DDE can be in transport mode and triggel check engine light, but no errors. Happened to me on a few occasions.
