Just out of curiousity, what are the wheel/tire size being run on the car? I think BMW allows max 1% difference in circumference between front and rear axle on xdrive F-series. The higher the difference the faster the clutch packs burn up in the transfercase.

Yes, it is good question.
But I never change original tire size.
I changed the tires one time.

I want to know which problem Mechanical or electronic.
It is possible.
VTG is used one,transfer clutch is don’t see inside.
Hmmmmmm, it is problems.

In ISTA are 2 options, Repair and calibration!
Do first Repair and after that calibration...

I confirm, just fitting non-runflat tires damaged my transfer box.  After an oil change and ista calibration, it was better for a few days but I had to have the transfer box renovated, mechanical wear.  Do you feel jerks while driving ?

Oh really?
I used non runflat tire now.
It is possible of mechanical trouble.
When I am driving no judder,no jerk,no vibration. It is normal.

Hello all,

OK, I decided to repair for clutch disc in transfer box.
original VTG unit was not work inside motor. unit was dead??
It broke because the clutch was too low and too much load was applied???

and about "USED"VTG unit
I thought that the clutch could not be calibrated because it was out of the applicable range.

anyway,

I will report the results when the repair is complete.
