A man of taste, have the same setup but with 1TB 970 Evo Plus and I5-10210U. Can confirm that that this setup is more than adequate for running the BMW programs in my experience. Got this as a dedicated laptop just for car related programs so was looking for the best offering without spending too much and needless to say its been more than good.

imho you won't use these 16gbs of RAM, also there is no m.2 internal slot for ssd

Not sure which "knowledge source" you talk about, but my Dell Latitude 5330 has 2TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 x4 SSD in 2280 form factor from factory. And it's not a problem to get one.

yes, but the op has a completely different Dell
i'm not talking about the existence of this ssd, but to which slot will he connect it

OP did not specify which Dell he had in mind. While it's true that 7xxx latitudes are quite integrated, there are 7xxx Precisions, which have everything in slots and SSD up to 4TB!

RE: New laptop for coding and diagnosing BMW and more
'dell 6430 i5 3th generation' is enough
intel 3th generation does not support nvme and m.2 only pcie, but pcie ssds won't work too
tbh he wouldn't see any difference between sata ssd and nvme ssd, maybe during unpacking big archives like psdzdata, but it's more profitable to buy cheaper ssd and invest it in 4c8t processor instead of 2c4t
