Hello,

In Germany, the car uses navigation data to show you upcoming speed limits and distance to those limits and speed assist is available to adapt to it preventatively. It is obvious that map based speed database is also available in other countries, but this look ahead feature is not. Is it something that can be coded in for use outside Germany? Car is G11, iDrive 5.

It can be coded only on cars with Driving Assistant Pro like G11 LCI. Your vehicle doesn't have the required hardware. Also, (almost) impossible to retrofit.

Thank you for your answer. But the feature works in Germany so it must be there.

Whats the right one? i´ve never seen something. Can this be coded, that the rpm switches to the navi layout?

Do you have heads-up display? If yes, then this route guidance look-ahead feature is displayed by default on HUD. You can shuffle it around under display settings in iDrive and possibly code it to show on both as well.

Upcoming speed limit can be coded on any Gxx with SLI with:

In HU:
KI_DISP_CB_ADDITIONAL_SIGN: aktiv
In Kombi:
ADDITIONAL_SIGN_ENABLE: aktiv

Speed assist doesn’t work unless you have ACC.

yes i have head-up and there it shows. But never seen this on kombi. no settings 4 that.

Thanks, but it didn't work for me. Perhaps the navigation based speed data is not accurate enough in my country to enable this feature. The HU entry was already active and I activated the combi parameter.

Go to iDrive settings - Displays - Heads-Up Display and set it to reduced. This way navigation info will appear on cluster.
