XZBMW  ICOM Next Clone won't connect to Esys
Hello team,

I am after some advice on a connection issue I'm having with a customer's 2016 BMW C650 Sport Scooter.

He has a ICOM Next Clone and it connects fine in ISTA with IP 192.168.8.1. When I try to connect in Esys after running a fault scan in ISTA to open the port, it will not connect. I am using the correct IP the same from ISTA. I have tried locking the ICOM with itoolradar and it doesn't make any difference. I also tried ethernet and Dcan connection in Esys, no difference.

It doesn't make sense to me that ISTA can read the bike fine with the ICOM but Esys will not read it.

Any advice here?

(I posted this in the general section rather than motorcycles as more experts will notice it here and respond)

Maybe instead of thinking too much where to post smile you could do some searching?

This was solved already:

Thanks for the reply. I have done extensive research already. Otherwise I would not have asked the question. That post you refer to talks about something I am already doing. I work frequently with motorrad and quite across how to make it work. This one however, does not want to connect. The port is open thanks to ISTA. Esys still will not connect though.

Then I guess his ICOM is crap and it's bike side ethernet connection is just faulty. As on a lot of clones. ISTA probably goes CAN only.

What if the guy tries to calculate bike firmware update plan? He should get ISTA fault in such a case.

RE: ICOM Next Clone won't connect to Esys
Yes on one machine we did BLP only due to storage constraints. But on the other machine he had SDP, it would not calculate. I figured a corrupt install as I could not verify it was correct. It could be the ICOM as its a clone. I assumed if ISTA is happy with it, Esys should be also. I asked to test on a newer model of bike. But not available. Unfortunately, the ENET cable can't work as the bike is too old. Normally avoid these types of jobs remotely. Lots of hours gone into it for little result so far.

bennymx!

I know you know, but are you sure this exactly 2016 bike should be handled by E-sys?

more precisely: K18/01 (0311, 0312) BN2000, what ISTA-P (NCS) can handle which is a C600
or
K18/11 (0C04, 0C14) BN2020 what ISTA+ (E-sys) can handle which is a C650?

Try it anyway to read wit ISTA+ and check they can calculate software update?
If ISTA+ don't then I'm not sure that E-sys would know either!

It already exists ETHERNET also on motorcycles, which has a TFT KOMBI!  [Image: itwasntme.gif]

RE: ICOM Next Clone won't connect to Esys
Some extra information, using an Ethernet on a TFT bike, results in read only. Ista can read everything, but can not write. Like deleting fault code and software updates.

If I helped you, please press THANKS & REPUTATION
