RE: cam replace in G82 problem

As I see there can be two possibilities:
1. Wires are still bad.
  a) Have you tested power wires under load?
  b) Have you checked for shorts between them or to power/ground or to other wires?
  c) Have you looked at the signals using oscilloscope?
  d) ETH wires are high frequency wires. Even if they have continuity there could be other problems like corroded connectors which short at high frequencies only. Have you checked those?
2. Bad TRSVC unit. You could try to switch pins for left/right cameras at the connector and see if fault moves. If doesn't - answer is clear.

Ok. Thanks for detailed steps.

b) - done. all is ok.
d) - all is clear.

Will do a) and c) and report.
Also will try 2.

RE: cam replace in G82 problem
Please note you need a GOOD oscilloscope to look at ethernet wires. FUB says these operate at 100Mbps so you need oscilloscope with at least 200MHz bandwidth! I don't think you will see anything useful with those cheap 2MHz oscilloscopes if you have such...

RE: cam replace in G82 problem
Power line to cam
if no-load 8V
under load 3.9V

Disassemble icam

Will try to repair. If not - will replace.
or will try use another power output for powering cam.

May be somebody know - did i correctly understand that this element is zerro-ohm resistor ?

RE: cam replace in G82 problem
Yeah, that a nice toasty capacitor/inductor smile Or something else smile

P.S. Fluke 196C a bit slow, but should give at least something... If you would ever need it.
