E92 M3 Comfort Access not functioning properly
Hello Everyone,

I have a E92 M3 that came in with none functioning Comfort Access.

I discovered the only key with the car was either ordered as a dealer replacement and never coded for CA and had CA disabled. I deleted the two original key slots and programmed two new CA keys for the car.

The CA now starts the car without issue, but the lock/unlocking are having issues. 1/2 the time the locks will not work either locking or unlocking the car.

The other 1/2 the time unlocking the car will work without issue but when you lock the car it will lock and then immediately unlock itself.

I tried updating and coding the CA module but that did not fix anything.

From previous E series cars I know the CA does not work as well as F series, but I have never had a car with this wonky of a CA system.

Currently the system is not throwing any codes. My current guesses are that either the handles are faulty, or the antenna amplifier is weak. The remote range is not very good but locks and unlocks the car without issue.

Thoughts?

The keys are brand new aftermarket ones that I have programmed to hundreds of vehicles. I have never had an issue with them.

Unlocking just after locking behaviour on F series is usually faulty door handle. Haven't seen many E series with CA, but IMHO worth trying to disconnect them one by one and check.

Usually the problem is on the driver's side. I've had it in a few M3s. Just disconnect door handle or pin from module.

I would not say problem is usually on driver's side, but that handle is used most so probably wears fastest. Usually it's the handle which does not work properly or works very hardly...
