hi, i have here a G21 that ATM module is damage by water, my question is if is possible adapted a used one or only work a new one?

i have read that both ways, so i dont know what is correct

put new same modul, and i can programed.

new module is the easiest as the imei number on the atm is tied to the vin on bmw servers so new module they will update their system.

if you are going to use a used one you need to unsolder the chip that has the imei number from the old atm and transfer it over to the new one and then vo code it. 50/50 success rate as the chips are easy to break

I have replaced several ATM modules with used ones. Just VO coded them and they work just fine. But all of the cars were with expired Connected Drive services.

yeah you only need to change the eeprom if you plan to use the connected drive features. if not and you just want it so the gps works then vo coding is fine
