If ICOM works fine anyway then you can upgraded without damaging!
If the ICOM don't want to update then the harware have memory problem, see other thread!

I have update my ICOM Chinese without problems with last FW Actia on first post and it work fine.

I'm having a weird issue with connecting to older Exx cars, it can't communicate with any ecus after updating to the latest firmware. Fxx and newer cars work fine.
It seems the issue is only when using ICOM-Next-04-23-22 firmware with ista v4.37.43. I have another ICOM Next with the previous firmware and that works fine with the same ista isntall. Both icom's are original.
Interestingly the ICOM with 04-23-22 also works with older ista 4.30.43, so I'm a bit confused.
Any ideas what the issue could be?

04-23-22 is latest. So yes.
