RE: BMW E83 A1 error - MRS: No message from DSC ...
You say it moves with some resistance. BUT does it move BACK by itself if you move it fully?

Disregard, I was thinking about pneumatic control, this one has electric.

Then the question is HOW could you try moving it? Have you EVER removed the electric actuator? It is factory calibrated and supposed to be NEVER removed! If you ever released it's bolts, you broke factory calibration and that would explain your problems.

IRL it is possible to get it more or less into somewhat correct position by multiple tries and fails...

Indeed, it is electrical - i have to move it by hand both direction - and it was never ever removed - i am sure about that.
I found also the test, executed 3 times and it is moving back and forth each time (multiple times during 1 test) - about 15mm.

Funny part that now it started to manifest pretty much each drive in the city. Not sure if it is related to DPF which soon will need to be regenerated (it was like 280 km from last regenertion) but even me - i have doubts.
Most probably I will end up mounting the second turbocharger - the error drives me crazy but thats it ... it insists to give me the chance to learn how to replace a turbocharger on N47 smile.

LE - I just replaced the turbo ... torqued to specs, changed the oil and filter, clearing errors, final check and then i will take it out for a test drive ... really hope no more those 2 errors ...

.....
And the air mass test is passing ...:
lets hope it will stay like that
Based on how the flaps are moving on this "new" turbocharger - extremelely easy without increased effort when you press to the other direction of the movement ... it seems the flaps on the old turbocharger (200k km) started to get blocked by dirt probably.

@Node - big THANK YOU for assisting me with your logical thinking!

smile)) just to let you know the miracle ... after 2 days the errors are back:

4933 DDE: Air system, air to EGR mass flow, plausibility
497D Pressure sensor, plausibility while afterrunning: Exhaust pressure before turbocharger not plausible with ambient pressure

and yes, air mass system test is passing.
What the heck to try more?

RE: BMW E83 A1 error - MRS: No message from DSC ...
I had a long drive - 1800km, mainly highway.
The error logged (but no dde active on dashboard) was:
497D Pressure sensor, plausibility while afterrunning: Exhaust pressure before turbocharger not plausible with ambient pressure
For this error - ISTA recommends to replace the exhaust backpressure (the round shape one)
Interesting to notice that regeneration was done 2 times after 700-800 km ... usually when driving around the city regeneration is done each 300-400km.
Lets see these days if also first error -4933- will be logged while driving around the city.

Does your engine switch off immediately after switching off ignition or does it continue to run for some time? I'm just trying to figure out what "afterrunning" means as I'm not a native english speaker.

RE: BMW E83 A1 error - MRS: No message from DSC ...
My understanding of "afterrunning" is the moment right after the KL15 is switched off.
I will enclose details of that error 497D as show in ISTA.

Unfortunately these freeze frames do not have that sensor data. As ambient pressure data seems ok, then check if the sensor itself or the hose (if any) is not plugged with soot. And if not - probably safe to assume that it needs replacing.

Or look at live data first what that sensor shows right after shutting down the engine.
