I get it. This is tricky. It's a mix that can't work either way. I guess you have to decide what wrong info to live with.

At the end, i decide keep donors vin, and if i have problems with law, change vin to original.

While searching for a suitable VIN number, I found some interesting information.
There is a database of all VIN numbers produced by vendor.
This database contains the right 7 characters of the VIN number (from-to), month-year of production, model code, model code from the first half of the VIN number.
From this DB, I picked up the 7-digit code that suited for me, then made up the left half and calculated the checksum.

This data can be found in the DiagDocDb.sqlite database. It is of course encrypted, but that's another story.

I would not mind getting to know how to decode this database among others in ista. I bet there is also a list of ECU part nos and how they relate to vins of type codes. This info was easily accessible in E series datens, not anymore with F/G series

As I ALREADY told in this forum MANY times, this information is in KIS. NOT in diag dabatabase.
