F01 FA change problem
I have had a problem with bad ZGW2 from a 2013 740i. I bought a used one from a 5 series GT, which is build on the same architecture as 7 series, just the car had different options. Also all the program numbers from the original and replacement ZGW are matching.
I was able to change the VIN and the FA with Esys ( I used "Restore" function fro FA. When I read the FA with Esys it shoes the correct options for the car, but when I open ISTA/D it is still looking for HUD, HKL and HIFI AMP that are not present in the 7 series. Also it is not looking for the rear steering module, which is fitted to the car. I am a novice with Esys and any help would be highly appreciated. |

RE: F01 FA change problem
You need a virgin dump for a zgw module. After installing it will synchronize with the car. A reïnitialization of the zgw module may be required.
MGU virgin and patching in Europa.

RE: F01 FA change problem
The ZGW is ordered by VIN, I dont think there is a virgin dump. But if you can help me with that it would be great.

If you can read from old ZGW, isteps and FA you can also do: Use VCM tab and read isteps and FA from old ZGW, then fit new ZGW and write FA and Isteps, all is done in VCM tab of Esys. After you can flash it normally. |
