I'm trying to flash the GKE19 to vin match to the car as the guy managed to kill his TCU, I've flashed many things on E60's and tried to do this E53 but it's throwing a no comms error.
I've sent the guy a modded DCAN cable to prevent him killing it with XHP again as the logs showed errors and XHP blamed his DCAN cable.

I can communicate with it, INPA will list the details but as soon as I try and flash with winkfp it throws the IFH-0009.

Is this a ICOM only option or am I missing something incredibly stupid.

I've tried the switch both ways (1st thing I tried)

Anyone got anything to add into the mix?

I don't want to drag him on a 200 mile round trip if my ICOM is going to do the same

Trouble is he's paid the licence for the old vin and XHP is reading the vin from the TCU so it wants him to pay again

What are you settings in Winkfp? Does it start to flash? I have seen where it does on pass where the bar loads to 100 then says IFH-009. Could have to do with settings in winkfp, please post picture.

car should drive fine without flashing the EGS or VIN matching, it's irrelevant to car operation. Had once tried flash E53 with DCAN, no luck. Used ICOM and ISTA-P, programed succesfuly.

I know it will run fine, in fact it does. The issue is the owner does ECU and box remapping for a living so he wants XHP on.

You answered my question, you tried with DCAN and it failed, you tried with ICOM and it worked.

So, it looks like a trip up is needed after all

I was doing it remotely so I don't have them but went through the usual setting changes

Did you have a go with WinKFP before ISTA-P. I'd rather not be faced with it wanting to update the entire car and was this to change the vin as well or just update the box as I thought ISTA-p wouldn't program used hardware with the wrong vin?

It's a shame Tool32 wouldn't do it as a vin change is all that's needed so he can stick XHP on

Yes tried everything with WinkFP including WinkFP with Icom, nothing would do it, had to update entire car with ISTA/P in my case it did not object to the VIN
