RE: EWS error in BDC G32
Car is from the Netherlands.
Also HU (MGU) is in theft protection mode, and there are like 5-6 fsc's rejected. Cluster shows tamper dot, very weird!
Will try reprogramming entire car with ISTA next week

RE: EWS error in BDC G32
Seen this issue at the dealer few times now already.
The issue can either appear after a failed flash or had some cars that had the same issue without any work done and failed by itself.
Solution at the dealer is to replace the BDC.
Re-programming is possible and data looks good but the issue persists.
Would be interesting to know if there is another solution apart from replacing the BDC.

RE: EWS error in BDC G32
Ive had same problem on main and currently waiting to be taken to dealership. i have heard of someone having success in downgrading bdc software to 11-21/03-22. this didnt work on mine so maybe more to it but worth trying before going dealers if possible

RE: EWS error in BDC G32
Thank you both for your responses.
Today I will be flashing the entire car with ISTA to i-level 23-07-523

@oceandiver86
This car also sat for like an hour, and suddenly HU is in theft protection and the 8040E0 error is in the BDC.
I'm thinking maybe the car tried to over the air update itself, but then it failed?

EDIT:
Well, suddenly no communication with DCS (driver Camera System), so I cannot reprogram with ISTA. To be continued...

RE: EWS error in BDC G32
Has anyone dealt with this problem? I have an identical problem. I tried to flash the entire car ISTA online AOS and it did not solve the problem. I wonder if there is any way to do this? For me, this error appeared after disconnecting the battery for half a day.

I've already been thinking about what you would probably want to try to do. Having the ISN from DDE, you could try to use one of the arguments in tool32 in BDC. You probably understand me. I don't think it will help, so I won't even try to read the ISN, I'll just order a new BDC. Even if the car started after the procedure we are talking about, the question still remains why the car remote controls don't work? They have nothing to do with DDE and both keys only work when placed on the steering column. Likewise, ISN has nothing to do with the dot on the odometer next to the mileage. And she showed up. A strange case... The BDC has the correct VIN number visible and yet some encrypted information from it was irretrievably lost. I think that there are few such cases in the whole world, unfortunately I am one of those few smile
