Why are you installing from the Download folder? Do you have the installation file in C:\ETKA\PROG\VIII?

...after updating to Update 1080 -> then you've installation folder in C:\ETKA\PROG\VIII

There's *ETKA_80_Install.exe* -> execute -> turn off emulator -> turn on emu -> start your engine new

I didn't turn off the emulator, and it updated OK. I think he must have downloaded the full installation package, looking at the file size in his screenshot.

Yes, I have the installation file ETKA_80_Install.exe (2192 kB) in C:\ETKA\PROG\VIII.
When I execute it, it copies some files quickly and then the screen as in the below attached screenprint appears. Upon clicking "Download and install ETKA 8.0" a file is downloaded called ETKA8_Installation.exe (152.310 kB).
After downloading I execute this file, and end up with the first shown error message.

I also tried to turn off/on the emulator, with the same error result.

What can I be doing wrong? Thanks again....

Troubleshooting:
Part 06 CRC fails (ETKA75_Germany_International_2017.part06.rar). Downloaded it many times. Extraction missing ETK75P_v2017.exe

Found it in my other harddisk (which I forgot I downloaded when it was first made available). Had to rename 3 dll files to XXoriginal.dll Installed in windows 7 x32. Wording was missing from the installation and 7.5 name was missing in the options (instead it had 7.4 and 7.3). Chose option 2 for english. Chose option 1 for etka 7.4 (Windows 7 x32).
After many hours of installation license was expired.
Installed updates, after many hours of installation, everything now working (it is etka 7.5). However I have all brands on my laptop, which I dont need.

Aha, interesting. So you only had to execute ETKA_80_Install.exe (2192 kB), without a further download necessary in order to update from 7.5 to 8.

Then I guess my problem is that my existing (German version) ETKA 7.5 is not seen by the update installer. It therefore proceeds to download automatically the complete install file, which then apparently runs into the same issue.

So it is back to the original question: why does the updater not find the ETKA 7 installation on my system?

Yes, that's all I did. It did everything automatically. It only took a few minutes, and I don't think it downloaded anything else. Once it started, I didn't have to make any input.

I don't really know how to help. Sorry. Maybe someone else has a suggestion.

No worries, thanks for your clarifications!

The instructions mention a timespan of 4 weeks after receiving a message, after which the data updates will only work under Etka 8. So far I have not seen this message appear. I'll wait till such message appears during the installation of future data updates, possibly there will be some more information given then, or even updated installation files downloaded "secretly" in the process.
I guess when more people try to update to Etka 8 more such issues may arise, and chances are that someone cleverer than I finds a fix!

I have the German version, doesn't work for me too it says always: 'Updater cannot find ETKA installation' does anyone have an idea how to fix?
