VANOS cap screw connection E36/S50 B32 Situation: Due to the unfavourable settling characteristics of the VANOS cap screw connection (exhaust-side solenoid valves), vibration fractures can occur in isolated cases on the screws. Effect: The VANOS cap can then lift off as a result of the pressure load of the solenoid valves. Result: sudden heavy oil loss. Affected vehicles: E36 S50 B32 (M3 ECE, Z3 M roadster/coupé ECE) Manufacturing period: as per list of vehicle identification numbers (start of series production until October 1999) |
