I installed latest ISTA and now everything works like  a charm.

I have the exact same issue on 4.35 version (ICOM is in firmware state), what I did

- Donwgrade with old firmware
- Install 3.22 MSI in order to update via ISTA
- Connect ICOM to ISTA when I tried to update I can see starting process then it is cancel very fast
- I update manualy to 3.22 
- Connect ICOM on ISTA same result firmware status
- I tried my ICOM on friend laptop in 4.36 version It is working like a charm
- I updated my version to 4.36 same result firmware status
- I double check in regedit Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold everything is ok

Yes you can!

They are (or must) downward compatible.

Hello.
I update the firmware by starting ICOM-Next-FW_04-22-20.MSI.
Then I join the ICOM web interface and upgrade the firmware 1: System - ICOM_NEXT-ROOTFS-012210.TAR.GZ, 2: Application - ICOM_NEXT-APP-012212.TAR.GZ. After upgrade you can see a new design in ICOM. I launched ista and diagnostics is fully functional

hi

i tried to update my icom next with last firmware 04-22-20 of this october but i cant updated. i use ista 4.29.xx.

i launch the setup, connect my icom next run ista go to the area to see the list where is my icom and here i push on set.. i get an window warning, i push on ok and i get a very fast windows apear and close impossible to read it and thats all nothing happen :/

is because i use an old ista version ?
