Now I have re-flashed all again and I have again CAN:NOT READY but immediately after the test I got another message with "license not found". This happens with both 12.12.0 and 11.11.5.
I will also reply asap with all the needed info.

Check this too
Install the vcds software 11.11.5 and/or 12.12.0
Then go to About and see if its Activated
No need to do a test using the tool
Maybe you need to use a Antivirus
Antivirus to check if you have a virus there.
Who knows
Lets see what info you have

Hi Matty,
I have flashed again the atmega162 with firmware v.1.92 + eeprom vers 6 11.11.5-12.12.0_eeprom 512 rl.hex and used fuse/bits as 320 (not 512).
Tried with both 11.11.5 and 12.12.0 and now license is fully (green color) and test is ok with K1,K2 except CAN:NOT READY, still not ready.
Maybe should I connect the interface to the car now to change it from NOT READY to OK?
I have a VW car with CAN (made 2006).

Hi Matty, I'd like to briefly reply to this previous message you sent me:
1) why should I remove R51 resistence (also if the cable is working fine?)?
2) I updated suggested ept file on ftdi by Mprog;
by PonyProg2000 I updated firmware (1.92) + eeprom (vers. 6 for 11.11.5-12.12.0 eeprom 512 rl.hex) even if probably is not a 512;
3) by PonyProg2000 set fuse and bits on security and configuration bits (it should be 256b words), this time I did NOT use v. 512b words fw;
4) power supply with a proper voltage stabilizer: 12V
5) 12V power supply applied to LM7805, GND connected as pdf procedure
GND of 12 V to GND of LM7805, everything works fine during the uploading/flashing procedures.
6) after every flashing and verify told me that check was successfull (ok).

First step that you have to do is to remove the R51 ( I saw this resistence soldered in your hardware )
The you said that you did this and did that but please tell us what exactly you are doing?
What programmer you are using, what software you use to flash the Atmega
You said that you set the Fuse bits but you didn't tell us what fuse bits did you use it
Please share pics with fuse bit set it
Ask Mr. Mladen76 how he did first time. He if he rememebr he said as you now that he set well the fuse bits in the Extream Burner software and after I took a look in his compouter he realized where he did wrong
Now i do not help anyone like I did with him in that time. Now I only can give you advises and tips if I want. So share pics adn tell us step by step how you did.

What power supply did you use? 5V or 12V?
Where you plugg the power supply?
Did you solder together the power supply GND with the programmer GND?
I ask you all of this to figure it out what you do there exaclly.
Even you think that you did all the steps as at the book but maybe you forget anything and thats why you cannot flash the Atmaga. Or Atmega could be blocked. who knows
As you could see in Mr. Fantomel collection he said there 512b words firmware but actually there is only 256b words firmware. So if you di a wrong step and you set the fuse bits for 512b words firmware then of course that your Atmega it is not flashed well

to GreatVortex: you were right mate, just tried to connect my re-flashed cable to my VW b6 car (with CAN) and now message is "CAN: OK". I successfully tested my (ex 12.10 ver.) cable with both vcds v.11.11.5 (with long coding support) and 12.12.0: everything was perfect! I have just done for my first time a complete auto-scan, it never happened to do it completely with previous beta ver. 12.10.3 (very bad release). Thanks mates for your suggestions!
PS: at the end of this story, it was "good" that RT had remotely locked my ex 12.10 cable... this has meant that I do improve to reprogram it and make it fully functional with better version as 11.11.5 and 12.12.0.

please as you have some minutes free, may you kindly explain me why should I remove resistence R51 ?
At the moment, I did not remove it yet and the cable is working greatly fine again (better than when it was a new brand one) after having re-programmed it.

My 12.12.0 vagcom cable says “unregistered interface”

Hi all

I have a 12.12.0 vagcom cable with FTDI 232 RL chip.
When I bought it, the first thing I did was Auto-Scan in one Audi A3 and then the license turns brown colour and Unauthorized/unregistered and I can't do anything with my cable.
So I realise that I have to programme my cable and I read the MY VCDS COLLECTION - ALL YOU NEED I HOPE thread of fantomel, big thanks fantomel, and this is what I did:
1. With MProg 3.5 I flashed FTDI 232 RL chip with FT232RL.ept file inside Templates folder of MProg 3.5 Release folder.
2. With PonyProg and with LPT cable and 4 resistances of 330 ohms ( because with 1K ohms it didn't work) I flashed Atmega 162 chip with flash_192.hex and vers 6 11.11.5-12.12.0_eeprom 512 rl.hex inside 12.12.0 for BM-BL-RL folder.
3. Set the fuses as the picture.
4. I powered supply 12 V Dc to LM 7805 regulator and with the same GND to pin 25 to LPT cable, with successfull messages of every flashing procedures.
5. Install VCDS-Release-12.12.0-Installer English 512bits.exe inside 12.12.0 for BM-BL-RL folder.
But when I did the Port test I have a message Status: Failed self test! and VCDS program disappears and then I have a message with Unregistered interface!
Does anyone know what is happening?
