everything work on 7.5 But i have a pb, it says "On this system no etka 7 installation has been found" when i try to upgrade to ETKA 8 International.

Any suggestion?

The Update does only work on a carfreak.kiss ETKA 7.5 PLUS v2017 Installation.

- Install ETKA 7.5 PLUS v2017 (Link in first Post of Thread),
- do the required updates (1185-711-717-1185)
- then upgrade to ETKA 8

I do have the carfreak.kiss version, and my current updates are 1187, 713, 719, 1187 :/

Is there a minimum screen resolution for etka 8?

I have this installed on a mini-laptop as well but the max screen resolution of that device is only 1024x600.
Etka 7.5 worked fine but after upgrade to etka 8, the program will not start anymore.

I see the program start in task manager.
Sometimes a MFC error message appear but most of the times the program just disappears from task manager without anything happening.

Please check that you have Microsoft Net Framework v2 and/or Net Framework 4
installed on you system.

I've Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 installed. At least it says so in the Control Panel-Programs-Uninstall/Change. Deos that work or does it have to be 2 or 4?

My theory is:

The Installer ETKA V8.exe checks in the registry where ETKA is installed .
[Professionally written software always does that, then is goes to that location and checks the software].

If your currently functional software doesn't update, then I would look at below location in your registry. Like mine and probably many other peoples installation, has a LexCom key, that shows a string value saying carfreaks.com, but NO location.
[this regedit value is for 64 bit systems]
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\LexCom

I would like to ask 911Turbo to maybe share this LexCom key with us to see what StringValues his is showing, since he got his Updated successfully.

Another location of interest also is:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LexCom or ETKA instead LexCom

IF I'm not correct about the registry locations, then maybe someone knows where that is correctly.
Anyone with a successful Installation/Update can poke around and find it.

Maybe he doesn't mind Uploading those 2 keys to the forum, so we can adjust our registry accordingly. I'm not saying that this IS the solution, but very likely it could be.

This is from my Win7-32 VMWare version of Etka8. There is no LexCom Key in WOW6432Node. There are NO values set in any of the LexCom keys.

Tonight I will take a look at my Win7-64 system, and will see if there are any differences.

I need to make a correction here, as to the location of the current ETKA installation.
[That's what happens if you write it from memory.]

My current installation shows up in: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ETKA7.5_International
See screenshot: and the stringvalues of it are in the right pane of the screenshot.

Maybe your current installation shows a location, [911Turbo] [but now it will show ETKA8.0, since yours installed OK]

My Installation aborted the same way as many other peoples did, so I don't have the correct solution, but working on it.

I've done a registry search for the word ETKA, found 6-7 entries, one of them shows the correct location of the program files. here it is on the second screenshot.
The more I look the more confused the situation is getting..

I have a feeling old "takis" knows what needs to be changed, since he made a reference to that in Post #29. Maybe he will tell us.
