You need to update ETKA 7.5 up until 1185-711-717-1185. Then install the Etka 8.0 upgrade.

Anyone knows why book icon is disabled in ETKA (when we choose control modules such as gateway and comfort units)? Is there a way to enable this???

Update:
It seems that the book icon and parts bulletin icon are only available with the full online version.

RE: ETKA 8 [Germany + International] v2017 + Latest Updates - VW/Seat/Skoda/Audi
Just did the upgrade from existing ETKA7.5 plus to ETKA8.0 according to the instructions from planet-fireball. But I started - as others did too - right with the ETKA8-upgrade-exe file, because I already had 7.5 plus with the latest updates installed.
First it didn't work out: The exe-file copied the necessary updates (vw: 1186,...) to the update-folders, but then version 8.0 was not installed. I tried it many times, but it always failed (including a bluescreen yikes).
But then I noticed one point wait: There is a folder called "VIII" in C:/ETKA/PROG, where in my case only 1 file was present. I was remembering, that I had made a copy of all my installation on an external drive a few weeks ago. So I was looking, how this folder "VIII" looked like on the external drive, and there were MANY files in that folder! So I copied all that files (which were a few weeks old) to my C:/ETKA/PROG/VIII and then started the upgrade-file from planet-fireball. And what can I say: It worked perfect and smothly. No idea, if this will help anyone, but let's give it a try!
@planet-fireball: Thanks a lot for sharing with us adore!!!

Yes had same problem. Think it has something to do with the hard lock not working properly. In my case I installed the entire program over itself and in the end I saw 2 screens I did not see the first time. After the 2nd installation it worked.
But maybe it's enough to only reinstall the hard lock program
