BMW E90 320d N47 Turbo question
Hello friends,
First of all, sorry for my long post. I need a little help. A few moths ago I have remanufactured my turbocharger at a local specilazied service. Since then my car has some vibrations at low RPM, under light load. I have monitorized my turbocharger pressure and all seems fine except one thing. The variable geometry, the electronic actuator, to be more specific, has a strange behaviour. ISTA/D indicates that the range of the electronic actuator must be from 5% to 95%. My electronic actuator is at 0% most of the time, with small variations up to 25-30% activation. But the activation of the actuator is not corelated with the engine`s rev or the accelerator pedal position. I have uploaded >>HERE<< a little video to be more precise about the problem that I have described. So, can someone with the same car/engine (BMW 320D, N47, 184HP) can post a video of his turbo values to compare them with my values? Thank`s in advance. |

Hi ..
I don't know how you looking turbo charg . You need to look turbo charge ONLY on lode.... DON'T look live data on low RPM or rev engine on standstill with no lode...Drive car on some hill with 2500 RPM high gear full throttle and look at turbo boost and actuator |

RE: BMW E90 320d N47 Turbo question
Turbo work's fine. I think the problem is bad connection between Turbo-catalyst converter-exaust pipe (DPF). They are too much tension? You must check this first. Sorry for my english.

If you ask me about the DPF condition, I did the DPF counterpressure test and it was fine. 12mbar at idle and 75 mbar at full load. The values are perfect dor the DPF. |

RE: BMW E90 320d N47 Turbo question
I'm not talking about DPF's condition because you would lose power if you were too pressurized. I'm talking about connections (physicly) from turbo to DPF. Exhaust system high pipe tension.

RE: BMW E90 320d N47 Turbo question
To me this sounds like "remanufacturing" has failed in some way. Connection and adjusting actuator to turbo is very precise what I have heard. Local turbo specialist have said that it is very hard to adjust (if impossible) new actuator to used turbo if You do't have some special tools. Even then it is a hard job. Cannot confirm, I have never tried (and will) that.

If the values are different, then I will ask my money back and buy a new turbo from BMW. |

RE: BMW E90 320d N47 Turbo question
OK friend, so...i bought a brand new turbo from a local website. 2 years warranty
The main question is that, the turbo has the BMW logo erased from the front (compresor) side. Anyone know why? The dealer assured me that the turbo is brand new and original MHI(Mithsubishi). All other stickers from the turbo are fine. The only question is why the BMW branding is erased from the turbo. See attached photos. |
