Soic test clip connections questions
I want to virginize a 2007 cluster of a 3 serie and want to connect using a soic test clip.
I got a couple of questions:
1) What board should I use where I connect the flat cable to? See attachment below.
2) What programmer do I use for reading and writing to the chip? I got a R270 and orange programmer.

I just had the chance to take some pictures of my adapter , i hope it helps you figuring out the right way of how and where to solder the socket pins on the main adapter .

it wont harm the chip if you connect the test clip in wrong direction , simply you will get an error from R270 software .

R270 works fine for me for Virgin the clusters. let me know if you need more help handshake

Best thing is to solder out chip and make corrections. Using Soic clip will not always work and may damage bin file.

I did test clip reading only once , as you said I don't trust reading chip with test clip onboard , I prefer desolder and resolder again .

RE: Soic test clip connections questions
Well I really tried getting it to work with the test clip but I couldn't get a stable connection. Eventually I desoldered the chip and reading and writing went fine.

RE: Soic test clip connections questions
Incircut flash of eeprom is The most safe, fast and easy way to Virginize EPROMs.
Never ever desolder them. I have virginized more than 100 clusters and never needed to remove eeprom from circuit board.
What programmer do you use?
Pm me amd ill gladly help u.
