I installed an ista update and diagnosed a backend issue with my vehicle, I don't know what's wrong can you help me? Thanks in advance |

You ask for help and hide the VIN, which is crucial to properly answer your question??? Come on... I would guess your car is older one (maybe E39 or the like) which does not have full VIN stored in any module, just short ones. Hence ISTA told that it can't identify the car without connection to backend. You could start identification by VIN, enter it in full THEN connect to a car.

Yes. That is a workaround for old cars and offline ISTA. Because ISTA does not know type code of a car without full VIN.
It's not needed for a bit newer cars which have full VIN stored in at least some modules. Of course normally when you use ISTA with connection to BMW backend that is not required either for any cars. |
