2015 F11 530d NOx sensor
Hey guys,
My car has a fault for the upstream Nox sensor , throws a code 280D00 in ISTA and monitoring the live data on the sensor shows glitchy values compared to the downstream one. Question, can these be removed from DDE and is it okay to drive the car with the upstream sensor faulty? No check engine light is illuminated. I am guessing its only there to regulate amount of Adblue the car should squirt into the SCR and has nothing to do with mixture? |

Update, car still drives fine with faulty sensor. It just wont regenerate DPF which is removed and replaced with a downpipe anyway in case anyone thinks the car wont start.
No check engine light, only fault code relating to Nox sensor in DDE. |

The upstream O2 sensor in a diesel does not determine best air-fuel ratio?

You are talking about the oxygen sensor (O2), my fault has to do with the nitrogen oxide sensor (NOx) which is only there to determine how much adblue to squirt into the SCR cat when DPF is being regenerated (LCI euro 6 models). |

Check wires and plug connections 2. If wires and plug connections are OK: Renew the nitrogen oxide sensor before SCR catalytic converter. Breakdown instruction None Service instruction If the nitrogen oxide sensor is replaced, the following service function must be run: SCR system adjustments and adaptations, SCR exhaust emission sensor system. I have completely removed the sensor and cleaned it so it looks okay visually when I checked the wires and sensor part. My i-level is 16-xx-xxx so I think an update is not a bad idea and looking into updating the whole car soon. Anyway it is nothing that is bothering me right now as I have a downpipe installed at the moment so no issued with the car not regenerating |
