Hello,

I own a VW Touran from 2016. It is equipped with a Discover Pro from Harman.

I tried updating from mhi2_er_vwg11_s2125_1 version 0343 to mhi2_er_vwg11_3301 version 3301.

During the installation, i accidentally cancelled it. Now when the radio turns on, it will display the radio graphics only, but no sound.

Worst of all, I cannot presset any buttons except for the touchscreen and the volume buttons.

It seems like the MMX module is not working properly.

I can restart the unit but the result is the same. When I insert the SD card with the update in, it tells me that it contains a software update, but i cannot initiate it.

I tried to do the update automatically by creating Swdlautorun.txt in the root of the SD card.

How do I initiate a new firmware update and restore my unit? Does anyone have a step by step guide for the MHI2 devices? All the videos that i have watched is for MST2 Technisat, and it seems more simple than the plain text guides i have seen for the MHI2 Harman units.

I have bought a UART USB adapter with CH340 chip, and I am ready to perform a restore, but I would have no idea how to initiate it.

MMX/RCC/IOC mismatch. If unit does not do a 2 minute boot loop then it is probably easier to get a Dlink and use telnet connection. Else you need to pull unit out and mess with wires.

Hello DukeFawks, thank you for taking the time to help me out.

The unit is not in a boot loop. I might be able to get a compatible D-link adapter today.

I found a guide online on how to connect to my radio. Once connected, which commands do I issue? And do I connect to the MMX or the RCC?

And what would be best practice, trying to update to a newer firmware or downgrade to an older firmware? 343 vs. 814.

EDIT: I now have a D-link adapter rev. C. Ready to perform the magic once instructed.
