XZBMW  SWFL for ZGW for NBT Retrofit F10
Hi,

I'm trying to retrofit a NBT into a F10 which had a CIC before.
We changed the ZGW for the CAN2 so the NBT starts up.

I've read that the ZGW it needs a special Software flashed to work properly.

Can anybody tell me what I need to flash?

If pre LCI you need ZGW 02 High with 8SK software loaded (Can be done with E-SYS)
But if your F10/F11 was built before 11/2011, it will not work.
You will need to change other modules and that is a lot more money making the NBT retrofit not a viable retrofit.
You will also need a ZBE converter if your iDrive controller has 2 plugs.

Plus you FM/DAB tuner will not work properly and radio reception will be poor. Even if you fit the correct FM/DAB amplifier for NBT. Many have this issue, yet to see a fix for it. Even if you provide power to the amplifier, reception will be poor.
Not having this issue on F3x

The CIC was stolen, so the NBT retrofit was the replacement.

I don't know the exact date of the car, but I will find out.

Well actually Carsystems just released a MOST based emulator that takes away the need to even replace the ZGW module for NBT Retrofits in F10/F11.
So this emulator will allow you to retrofit NBT in any F10 F11 regardless of build date. Pretty good news

My F10 is from 11/2010 and I only had to change the ZGW to the ZGW2 and cabling the CAN2 to the quadlock plug. I bought a new one and it completely worked without any programing of the ZGW. If you do the same with a F25 you have to program it.
If the car is built before 09/2010 you also need to bought a new CAS with a newer hardware index, instead the CAS doesent recognizes the break switch and will not start.

Not having this issue on F3x

The FM & DAB issue is very strange, I have the same problem on 03/11 f11, I have tried many different amplifiers but the DAb is still very poor, I have noticed that with the ignition off the DAB is OK but a soon as you turn on ignition the DAB drops in & out, EKPM2 maybe? shot in the dark I know but LCI has EKPM3.

It has been doing my head in for months now fail

You have to wire Kl 30 or Kl 15 to Pin 13 of NBT. NBT has an other voltage output for diversity regulation. After this, radio will work perfect.

I have already done this for the FM, but the DAB is the issue which is 5v over the coax from NBT to dab antenna amp on the C post
