SDConnect C4 software problem
Hello dear colleagues,
maybe you could help me solve one SDConnect C4 problem. Fresh installation of Xentry 2019-09 XDOS. When trying to connect to the car, automatic software window pops up and tells to update the SDConnect software (doesn't start update itself just indicates to pdf file with instructions of updating the multiplexer software). I put the batteries in the C4, I leave it connected also to car power, go to Administration toolkit, and at software update tab there is only one selection "Software update", not like usually there are 10 .zip files selections including Caesar etc. When I click the software update with that one selection, it begins the process but shortly ends with Error 662: suggesting to try updating again. IP for the C4 is set. Tried with batteries, without batteries, with car connected, without connection to the car - still the same - cannot update the software of the mutiplexer. By the way installed software version shows below 2.0 (1.8 etc). Any help and suggestions would be really appreciated together with thanks and +rep! |

How does your program files/mercedes-benz/sdconnect toolkit/update_manual folder look like? Or the other update folders? Could you post a screen capture.

Hi
I attach all the screenshots. As you see there is only one option "software update" instead of multiple files of firmware. When i press start, it starts for 15 seconds to try to update (even the padlock in the taskbar locks up to show that its connected to multiplexer), but then i receive error 662. Is there a way to force installation of the update to the mux? thanks! |

Looks odd. I just update one SDConnect from 2.10 to 2.11 with an 07.2019 laptop and the update_manual folder looked the same (wonder why they have 2.10 included).
Why do you "7" one the "information" page, not connected, while you have "22" accessible with cable at the software update page? Cannot remember how toolkit shows power source when both battery and external power is available but did you have both and the external voltage high enough to match toolkit limits? Google suggests 662 being triggered from power supply issues! |

Ignore the "7" and "22" difference, not all screenshots I captured on my PC so I put few screenshots from internet which show identical content.
Batteries were put new, also connected to car which also connected to power source, so wouldn't blame lack of power... any other ideas? |

Was the screen capture with the colour 7 mux from internet or your own? I'd like to see the battery power source indicated. My understanding is that some clones do not have proper battery power supply implemented. A sales website just tells HW xx shall not be updated. I guess means cannot be updated.
You could try another XDOS setup if it makes any difference. When you say "new batteries", do you mean new rechargeable batteries? New batteries may not be fully charged. Ordinary batteries may have broken the device. |

My screenshot is with 7 indicated.
Power source it showed always “battery”, even when i removed batteries I guess i will try updating it on older version of xentry as not sure how else to proceed Thanks |
