My current interface is FW Version : 1.96,HW Version : 0x46,Identification : ROSS-USA and is working fine with vcds version 17.1
So can i update it simple via USB? I have chip ARM, its possibile ?

Here connect the programmer and connect 12V to the OBD this model, third photo:

            First and second have same error, inerface found but not pluged in car, after plug or add 12V interface not found, FTDI flash wit Mprog OK, USB reflash and HW check work only when it has power (12V) and LED light only then.
They are not STC or?
The same mistake was before reflash, is there any chance, hardware? and what?

What is the exact usb flash procedure? Do I use Loader V2?? Can I use the car obd port to power and flash? (It has firmware 1.96) Thanks

No you don't need to remove anything on this interface.Its better if you power your interface with external power(either by car obd port or by 12v power supply).Use USBasp programmer with Progisp programming software and follow the fantomels instructions.

USB flashing is a procedure where you flash your interface vis USB port without even opening the interface.But you can only use this procedure if your atmega inside your interface is programmed last time with proper fuse settings to accept programming via USB port.

Can I try usb programming since I dont have the usbasp programmer?? (if it does not accept then it will not flash correct??) I reattached better photos above.

Anything I have to pay attention regarding the usb programming? Any choices I have to select during flashing procedure?

LOADER V2 for usb flashing correct? Pid FA24??
How do I check this? "if you have lock of Atmega CC or FF".
I will give it a try with PID FA24, loader V2, first check hw type and then EEWrite, however after I am done with a one major retrofit (and one less so).

How do I deactivate AES by jumper. VagCom_EEWrite not in bootloader mode. Do I remove one jumper or both?? Then flash firmware update then put jumper/s back???

1. Your interface is protected against reprogramming. You need to do an update directly on the processor feet.
2. or remove AES and try again

As you are getting 'not in a bootloader mode',i think your only option is to program your interface(Atmega 162) using the headers on your PCB board.You don't need to remove any jumper.I got exactly same interface as yours and i just used $2 USBASP programmer from ebay and followed fantomels instructions and it was working with latest 17.8 vcds version.

What software do you use for the VCDS, the one that has put Fantomel in the post # 6?
