Im doing my install now with no luck   I have E61 with retrofitted CIC.
Its flashed with E60 gateway and i have this emulator with only can wires goin in,   Not in and out like many others so im just tapping the can wires.  Is it really suppoused to work like that? hmm.

Anyways i coded Macro L6 coding and i can only hear PDC no reaction in iDrive. Just main menu.

I tried everything now.  So many hours   Im about to give up.

Do i need to flash E70 software to gateway even though i have the emulator to get this to work?

Well, I also have this problem; sort of.
Unfortunately I've bought all the items (emulator, camera, wireless modules - I don't want to have to take the wire from the rear to the front of the car) after I've searched through the Internet. On the other hand, luckily I've done the search before trying on my E61.

As far as I've researched, there is no E60 or E61 with OEM rear view camera; as odd as it seems, there is no such option and therefore SA code 3AG is not valid for E60 chassis. No way around this. The option is not available.

For me, flashing E70 gw would be an option only if there were no loose of functionality. Because that is not possible I've solved my problem by buying a RVC dedicated interface. Much more expensive but much more simpler.

As for the E9x/E60x compatible Chinese modules, I'm on a dispute with the seller because he says that it works on E6x with 3AG service code and that is not true. They are cheating and lying about that. My suggestion it that all do the same so they stop telling that it works on E6x.

E60/61 never came with backup camera from factory. So, no emulator will work straight on that.
Cheapest and simple way is to install video module.
Be careful when buying, as some are for CCC, others for CIC.

3AG will ofc never work but manual coding should do it.
If you flash gw to e70 i can not see Why you should loose anything?
My Cic is from e90 with gw flashed to e60. With e90 gw flash we are loosing some important settings.

Well, as I mentioned, I never tested on the car, but I've tested with a SSD file and I can't add $3AG to the VO. I don't know how to do "manual coding"

I haven't tried before because so many people said that it does not work.

I have a 2009/01 E61 that had CCC. I've retrofited CIC from a 2009/05 E60.
Are you saying that if I code those values on my CIC it will work?

stop wasting your time, it will never work with e60 cic gw. you should ask that arrogant chinese from autofocus how to do it because i had an argue with him regarding this issue. he was keep telling me i don t know how to install/code it and in reality it works just fine with e60. he didn t wanted to show me any working example around the world with a working emulator of his emulato on e60 but insisted it works !

My point exactly! I've bought the modulator on Aliexpress and the seller keeps telling me that I should contact a coding expert to make the modulator work!
They never explain how to make it work neither show any E6x with a working modulator.
I've opened a dispute and I will get my money back.

I've also reported them to Aliexpress as they are cheating the clients when they say that it works on BMW E6x.

@ChrizLoud, could you please show me how you made it work without flashing a E70 GW?
Is your CIC from a E9x? As far as I know, that may also be a solution.

I know it will never work with E60 flashed GW but with E70 flashed GW and emulator it should work right?
