Coding G-series, beginners guide?
I have coded succesfully several F- series without problems, but today I faced first G-series (G01 X3).
I know that I have chose S15A, but what exatly I have to do? In F- series I can put ignition on, just pushing Start button. Sounds stupid, but how an earth I can put ignition on in G- series? I looks that it switchs only partially when pushing start button. I have read elsewhere that SVT read does not function at all ( ok, it does not), but reading ECUS's resulted only 6 units. I assume it is because of that ignition missing, or what? Should I have some spesific version of Esys to code G- series? I have newest daten in my system, but esys is 3.27. I'm dreaming currently only coding, not flashing. |

RE: Coding G-series, beginners guide?
Ignition is switched on on active diagnostic session. So the easiest way is to run diagnostic first, then do coding, otherwise you'll have to use transmitter or tool32 to switch ignition on through bdc.

I realised that running diagnostic with Icom Next + ISta did the job, but I assume connecting with enet is hard after that, at least I couldn't connect. I have to look tool32 option. |
I had it several times after diagnostic with Icom, connecting with enet is hard after that. What can cause this problem? When I connect the next day to the same car I had no problems with Enet-cable? |

I always code with engine on unless hooked up to charger.

@jaki you should update Esys to newer version - 3.27 does not work with latest psdz (3.63). Use 3.30.1 or 3.31

@almaretto good to know but for me the I-Step dropdowns are grayed out - I seem to remember there was some kind of patch to fix it??
Agree, transmitter is broken in newer ESys versions - I have not tried copying it over from 3.27 to the newer ones - might try that later. Email: Skype:
