The DME is a MEVD1728 ECU.

That would be great if we could figure this out manually.

if you can tell me which cylinder number specifically,i will be able to point you to the right part to replace and you will be fine.

So the car wouldn’t start and we figured out it was the Camshaft Position Sensor. Once we replaced it, car started right up ....then Coil # 4 first one on the passenger side closer to the firewall caught on fire !

We replaced the coil and spark plug w brand new ones and then no spark from the DME CAN Line from the DME to the coil.


Cylinder #4 is Misfiring sorry for any confusion!

It is lacking Spark, fuel is being delivered, and NO CODE for this error is stored in the DME.

After clearing codes and running engine for sometime we receive error codes like exterior temp sensor (its disconnected) air bag, and so on.. but no CODE for this cylinder misfire very strange!

This was resolved today.. a locksmith came and cloned the DME.

Working now.he drilled 2 holes one in each same spot. Don’t know exactly what he did but it worked. About an hours time total.

I have question... when i run ISTA + it runs a System Test and wants to replace the DME installed i believe it might be because the serial number is different. it will not complete it, even if I tell ISTA + that i have completed the replacement.

Will this cause any future issues?

only when going to dealer for programming. Other third party workshops with knowledge will have no issues

To avoid any dealer stress for the car owner...

or is the car going to be upset for ever!

Because from what i can see ISTA-D & -P wont really follow through on any other features on the Measures plan or can I edit out that specific procedure?
