BMW Icom A2 repair

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
It's very rare for minor damage to occur. If the green fuse burns out, then replacing it without eliminating the power failure will not help. The ICOM draws a very small current of 0.15A and if the fuse blows then there is a serious fault in the power system. Look with a tester to see if power is coming to the board, maybe you just have a broken cable OBD

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
It sounds something like this: I have a car  original BMW and it stopped starting.
I fixed 4 things today and they all had different breakdowns

I already wrote about what kind of  and where it should be on the board. You do not have specific questions and it is not possible to describe all possible breakdowns

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
I know that this thread is about ICOM A2 repairing, but I don't know anyone who has so great knowledge about these devices than Ferrum and I want to ask a question. Is there any ICOM clone on Ali, that is worth buying? A3/Next clones are good or have poor quality?

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
Since 2019, almost any China has been made with errors without correcting which does not work completely and for a short time. If you choose, then I would advise next it is easier to fix it and it is made with better quality than A2.

I can not say that the original does not break, but it is made without errors and works without modifications.

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
I have a clone icomNext. however, the leds light up red in a flash...
also it can't update firmware.
Looking at this thread, it looks like others have the same problem.

Next fix is in this thread
https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=73571

Does not program due to incorrect frequency of quartz 33333.
The red LEDs are on because the recovery mode is sporadically triggered due to a low level on the leg 42

RE: BMW Icom A2 repair
Thank You very much! I know that orig is best option BUT, with genuine NEXT's there are two problems. First is that, at the moment, there is problem to buy it because of low supply. Second, I've heard that NEXT's MOST is unstable with E-Series and it cause bricking CCC's, TCU's, MULF's etc. or unable to program them. For me it is very important, because I work with lot of E-Series, and programming infotainment modules in those cars with DCAN is very risky and last veeeery long.
