Does anyone know if the driving mode retrofit is same to 2018 models? The wiring says it can be done till 2017_06 (first picture), but I can´t find the wiring from 2018.. But it should still work with the "old" wiring?

On newer minis fromt 2018 it looks like in 2nd picture I guess.
And on "older" F5X minis it looks like in the 3rd picture.

Am I right?

No one did this before on a 2018 F56? It definitely doesn´t work with the round "ring-switch", tried everything. My guess it works only with the switch as on the 2nd picture above. All I could find for FES ("FahrElebnisSchalter" in german), driver experience switch, is this:

   

One wire is for DTC_FES

Have you ever tried to make the retrofit on a R60?

Sure, works great on r-series with the sport button/switch

With the R60 I made the retrofit changing the entire switch, maybe the same thing on the 2018 F56?

I guess so, since the switch is quite expensive I´m looking for a used one and try to test it

Hi Freddy,

As I mentioned previously, I did a retrofit on a R60 Sport version, but car in not getting the pop corn/burble sound from exhaust. I get the "SPORT" display into kombi.
I coded the engine. Maybe you know why there is not the loud sound?

In the other hand, I didn't had enough time to try some thoughts:
i disassembled the entire part, and I found some "micro switch's". Maybe would be possible to take one from another function, e.g DSC, and solder it to the sport place.



Maybe something similar could be done in the new part.

The white block is LED diode for ilumination

Yes in the top are the leds, but in the middle of the "metal half moons" is something that does not light up.

I would say that those are the indicator lights, so you know you pushed that button
