RE: [Help] Mini Cooper CAS replacement
Try disconnecting Battery Negative Terminal for 30min than reset ELV with Tool32 clear codes and try to start car.
If you replace cas you will need to get ISN from dme and write to cas and flash to vin than add new key |

RE: [Help] Mini Cooper CAS replacement
Thanks for your answer.
Already tried that, but not success. So a cas change sounds really complicated.. Is there an "easy" way to write isn to the cas module and add key? |

RE: [Help] Mini Cooper CAS replacement
To write an ISN, you will need a programmer (e.g. VVDI Programmer). First, you'll need try to write the eeprom and flash from your actual unit (make a clone) to new one, but if eeprom at your module is corrupted, you'll need you'll need to read ISN from DME/DDE(need to check if VVDI read your DME/DDE) and write into new ecu. Then you'll need key programmer to write keys into eeprom (to new ecu).
Only BMW services:
Remote coding/programming - E, F, G serie HDD change, Carplay, Screen mirroring activation FSC pack - CIC, NBT, NBT EVO, ENTRYNAV2, MGU, KAFAS Remote reset 8HP ISN F serie ELV disable for CAS3, 3+ |

RE: [Help] Mini Cooper CAS replacement
It's not possible to buy a "new blank" unit. CAS is always programmed to a VIN. If you get a new one, you'll have to order it for your car and it's basically plug-and-play (but you should code it nonetheless). Also, keys are already pre-programmed so you don't have to buy new keys as long as nobody did something stupid to the CAS before. A new cas costs a couple of hundred euro's, that's why some people assume you want to program a second-hand CAS which is not that simple.

RE: [Help] Mini Cooper CAS replacement
Read and save the eeprom with R270, this might just be an ELV fault.
