Does SParkFun provide their source and allow me to modify it so I can send the correct message? Or do you know where to get the ino firmware?

For ignition You need CAS or FEM or CANbridge module , other parts You have..

Is this in lieu of sending CAN messages manually? If so, do you have a known part # that works? I assume the CANbridge is different from CAN filter used for retrofit.

They have a github repo and this tutorial was quite helpful. Note that you have to solder the can shield yourself. there are also rasperry Pi can shields it comes down to your preference.

The filters should not work since they are only sending specific messages and are usually locked to a vin they get form other modules. So they are no real use in this situation.

Can bridge from car systems is a good solution. I use it for my own bench. Can work with Exx and Fxx also tested with Gxx evo. On their site is a manual with wiring. Might be worth to take a look at it.

I saw on eBay UK a CAN Bridge that claims to be the only thing you need to start coding on bench. Not sure if it works as advertise. But too bad, they don't sell to USA.

They operate on the same basis yas you do

CAS sends ignition on CAN - you may switch KL15 in it with Tool32 but You need ZGW , it converts D-CAN to K-CAN and PT-CAN.
CANbridge sends ignition signals too but have integrated D-CAN to K-CAN or PT-CAN converter inside , simmilar tool I use is CANtieCAR.
FEM has CAS and ZGW inside but is big module and it takes a lot of space on the table , in FEM is possible to switch KL15 with tool32 too.
All of the above configurations will work.

I'm getting a wire harness. It's pretty simple to make, but I can't find just the ACC emulator. Maybe it's a translation issue but all the ones I've seen says ZGW required, then follows it with emulator mode without ZGW, so I said, F it and got one. ZGW appears to be sparse in the US

I also ordered SparkFun kit, along with Y adapter as I need access to OBD port, while waiting for the harness. It should be fun and I'll find a use for it.

did you get all parts needed?
i‘m currently planning on building a bench coding station for myself. but right now i have no clue, what parts i will need.
i want to code and program e, f and g series. but not only nbt or evo also other things like frm, ihka, cluster etc.
do i need the matching keys for the fem/cas/bdc or is it possible to switch ignition on via tool32?
