XZBMW  Icom Identifiaction
Just wondering if anyone can kindly identify this ICOM for me. I have searched the web high and low and have not seen a circuit board layout similar to this. I have read so many horror stories on these types of devices, like the ones without heatsinks are not to be trusted and others are simply older devices repackaged in newer cases, so any info on this, if available would great.. Regards Stu

Definitely Chinese clone. Must be a newer version since the first versions of clone icom next were icom 2 clone in a next case. Still same old clone MAC address

RE: Icom Identifiaction
Don't know what "newer" you see here. Maybe layout is different but still all the same parts used in ICOM A2 clone like 10 years ago. Just no heatsink. Exactly the thing you read horror stories about. Not even space to properly fix heatsink onto... Though I saw there are glue-on heatsinks, but never tried one.

Not the original but not the worst Chinese!
This model does not have a button connected. I give a connection diagram with additional elements.

RE: Icom Identifiaction
Thanks for your responses. I did wonder if it was likely to be a repackaged A2 clone without a heatsink and no wifi card..

RE: Icom Identifiaction
Out of interest, does anyone have images of what the genuine BMW ICOM next looks like inside ? I'm hoping to be reimbursed for the crud one and purchase a genuine BMW unit. I simply don't wish to plug these things into what can be high value vehicles.

RE: Icom Identifiaction
Here is the original NEXT A with plus one button in the red corner, that is missing from the clone:
