Hi,

I tried to revive an old topic but didnt work.

I am making a bdc based bench for headunits and kombis.

So i got a bdc test wire from AliExpress. connected it on port 7 and 8 and put the key in the coil.

I can see the bdc in esys and can code it but i cannot start the bdc (kl15). I also tried with tool32 klemmen kl15_ein but it says that ecu conditions not met.

Then I noticed the kombi shows a logo with a steeringwheel and lock. So it might that the bdc needs the steeringwheel lock to be connected
Before it can start?

So does it need an elv? And i also read that some bdc have elv some dont? How to know? Is there a way to disable this. I have two bdcs for the bench both dont start…

I asked the breakers company to send me the steering wheel lock which was on the donor car, lets see…

Fixed. BDC with ELV works fine now. ELV is required on most MINI BDC
