RE: R56 N14 Auto to Manual
I'm doing the conversion now, the physical bits first! I'll be reprogramming DME soon.

RE: R56 N14 Auto to Manual
I’ve finally got the conversion 95% done, done all the wiring and put everything back together.
I’ve removed $205 from the VO and default coded the car (not all the modules, but the main ones like FRM, CAS, KOMBI) and reset the variant code on the DME so it’s not moaning there’s no EGS to talk to. I do have an issue, though, KOMBI doesn’t light up when ignition on, it’s like it’s not talking on the CAN bus. And I do have an A560 fault (no message, display switching note) receiver kombi transmitter DME. If I interrogate the kombi with Inpa it mentions about no gear shift message which would be right, it’s not got one anymore. Do I have to reprogramme the kombi now it’s a manual? I was expecting the software to be the same… |

RE: R56 N14 Auto to Manual
So reprogramming the DME (which I hadn’t yet done) to the manual ZB has fixed the fault occurring on the kombi. I guess it was a spurious message coming from the DME that the kombi wasn’t expecting given it was coded to be a manual.
I still have no warning lights, or body computer functions so I think I need to go through and check I haven’t forgotten to connect up a plug. I had missed a plug! One from central instrument pack (speedo, screen) to the kombi on the steering column. So all works properly now. Just need to finish the physical side of the conversion (exhaust, fill the gearbox, bleed the clutch fully) and it’ll be done. Tested the reverse lights and clutch sensor and they’re working too, so my wiring alterations have worked perfectly. |
