he said no air leaks⁸, but did he actually check physically check the charge pipe or is he just guessing since there is no code for lean mixture or air mass plausibility?

Phisically checked and nothing found. After that I did smoke test and no leakages.

In 3 seconds dme is still in open loop and is depending on dme map. You have either

1. Insufficient fuel pressure or fuel supply
2. Insufficient or un-metered air.

Check lambda and multiplicative ratios , and see if they are OK

I checked all live data. Have second car on n55 engine too and when compared, all seems same.

Have tried resetting all adaptions, and relearning, it’s hard as there isn’t much to go off,

Check HPFP and injectors.

No errors. Just turns off if you move car immediately after starting. If you wait 2-3 seconds after starting, then goes normally.

had the same issue with a f30 with  enginee b40b20 some time ago. Solved clearing fault codes with ista even not having any errors.

If you do not have error, in ista "clear error" button is greay and you cannot erase.

since the car is in open loop during 3 to 10 seconds ( depending ambient temperatrure ) what you probably have is a wrong adapadtive value. You have to find the way to clear fault codes. Inside ECU. Go to DME, call up ECU functions and look for clear fault codes. IF ytou cannot do that, try reset adaptation  values under service functions.
