Is that ecu software touched by someone?
I dont have more ideas, swap immo, for these clusters is very easy. Even working key is not required.

Not by my knowledge and impression.

RE: Golf Mk5 - Cluster Swap - HELP - What is procedure ?
So i did this job thousand of times ....

Follow this procedure :
*******************BACK UP YOUR ABS CODING WITH VCDS***********************8

-First thing first ,read immo data out of original cluster by OBD2 (VVDI2,FVDI,AUTEL and so on)
-Dissasemble donor cluster, locate 24C32 memory chip
-Read and save original 24c32 content
-Modify it as service mode (you can find how to do that on codecard.eu)
-Write with programmer 24c32 with service mode file
-Asemble back cluster and put it on the car
-Conect OBD with the tool that you have used to read original immo data out of original cluster
-Write original 24c32 eeprom out of DONOR CLUSTER
-Read immo data ,open original immo data of original cluster and write it back
-Reset instrument
-After that set the mileage and you are good to go.

30 MIN job

Good Luck
-Modify it as "Service mode" you can find this procedure on codecard.eu

Thank you all, but I don't have that tools or knowledge
This is only one-time-job and from tools I have only VCDS and ODIS with 5054a tears.

I can always revert to old cluster if I can't get it work with these tools.

learn key before cluster is adapted by immo ?
is that possible ?

RE: Golf Mk5 - Cluster Swap - HELP - What is procedure ?
You might do it with Odis Online but you cannot set the mileage .

Pass this job to a proper technician better .
