I strongly recommend to use AOS ISTA/P, specially if threre are some warranty issues! Forget any winkfp etc etc playing, my advise.
Ista/p wil take care about everything and correctly.
If new dme is faulty, log files in Germany will show that, and You will get a new one without any crying.

Is there a simplified way to get rid of the errors I’m getting concerning fault initializing and global unknown and edibas? I’ve already went in the edibas ini and changed my port from 6700 to 6801 and the ip address I changed as well although I’m not sure it’s correct. Also I have 2 edibas folders one in c:/ and the other is in my ista p bmw environment folder. The one in ista is an older version than the one on c:/. I am not a coder so most of this is gibberish to me.

i used original iCOM with original ISTA-P, that worked good, cant say why/if offline variants work as good or have issues

Are good if the op knows bmw programming and coding prerequisites... This problem can be solved whith the only ediabas in 20 min.
