Im not very familiar with BMW online services and will be asking on behalf of a mate.

Long story short. He has got access to online bla bla bla. Can update KaSIO and then with ISTA transfer service to a vehicle. However after update it shows 00000 as service partner ID. Is there a way to enter his correct number?

Yes, it is correct. Only BMW dealers have 5 digit codes. Services by AOS users will be shown as 00000 in vehicle. Which is quite logical - IMHO there potentially are many more AOS users than 99999...

What's the point (except being too clever) in writing these custom strings, if when anyone updates service using official tools, all this will be overwritten anyway? Especially for cars with connected drive it's enough just to put check mark for "transfer data to vehicle" when registering a service in KaSIO!
